I am the managing librarian for Howson Branch Library. I would like to let our neighbors know that we are hosting writer Carolyn Bock McBride on February 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. She has written Fireflies in a Jar : growing up in Austin 1930-56, her memoir of growing up in the Bock house on Bowman Street near the current library location. Carolyn will read some passages from her book and leave time to answer questions and socialize with folks. Since this event is certainly of local interest, I hope that the Association will help invite neighbors to come spend some time with this author.

Thanks very much,
Bonita Snyder-Jones, Managing Librarian
