CodeNext Community Meeting (May 22, 6:30pm @ Congregation Beth Israel)

    May 16th, 2017
    by admin

You are invited to join Council Member Alison Alter, her staff, and your neighbors at a community meeting on CodeNEXT.

CodeNEXT is the City of Austin’s initiative to rewrite the Land Development Code. The Land Development Code prescribes what can be built and where, and will have major implications on how Austin grows and changes. To learn more about CodeNEXT, visit www.austintexas.gov/codenext.

At this meeting, we will dive into a specific part of District 10. We will look at the draft map, talk about how it and the text of the new code could impact your neighborhood and your favorite parts of town, and we will discuss ways to get involved in the process. Whether you want to learn the basics or become a neighborhood ambassador, there is a role for you to play in this vital phase of our city’s development.

Monday, May 22nd (6:30 PM – 8:00 PM), Congregation Beth Israel, 3901 Shoal Creek Blvd, 7875

This meeting will focus on the neighborhoods of Rosedale, Bryker Woods, Tarrytown, Deep Eddy, Pemberton Heights and other surrounding areas. If you live in this part of the district, please try to attend this meeting.

If you can’t attend this meeting, Council Member Alter is also hosting two additional meetings:

Saturday, May 20th at the Monte Vista Clubhouse, 6000 Shepherd Mountain Cove, 78730

    • This meeting will focus on the areas of District 10 which are west of 360

Tuesday, May 23rd at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 8134 Mesa Drive, 78759

    • This meeting will focus on the areas of District 10 which are between Mopac and 360

All three of them are open to everyone. However, please keep in mind that each of these meetings will be focused on specific parts of District 10. Each meeting will also focus on the specific types of zoning seen in those areas.

Come with questions, leave with a plan.
