Austin High Community Traffic Safety Meeting (Nov. 13, 5:30 pm — Austin High School Cafeteria)

    November 9th, 2014
    by admin

On Thursday, November 13 (5:30-7:00 pm, Austin High School cafeteria), the Austin High PTSA is sponsoring a neighborhood meeting to address traffic safety concerns potentially affecting Austin High.  As shown in the map below, two traffic projects are located near the entrance to Austin High, and include (1) a proposed construction of the MoPac managed toll lane to connect to Cesar Chavez, and (2) an extension of Pressler Street (at rail road grade) to connect to Cesar Chavez.

Given the proximity of these projects to the entrance to Austin High, there are concerns that these projects could increase traffic around Austin High School, especially during rush hour, adversely affecting rail safety, driver safety, and pedestrian/bike safety.  Neighbors are invited to attend the meeting to understand and actively address potential traffic safety concerns raised by these projects.  Additional details are posted Nov 13 & 17 Community Mtgs at Austin High.  If you have any questions, please contact Cathy Smith ().
